Sarah Barnes is a Supervised Clinician currently completing her Master of Arts in Counseling with a specialty in Addiction Studies at the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the College of Charleston. Sarah works under the supervision of Kari Barrett, LPC, CPCS, RPT/S and Kelli Littlefield, EdS, LPC, CPCS, along with faculty supervisors through Hazelden Betty Ford.

Sarah enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults from all backgrounds and identities. Her goal is to create a space where clients feel safe to explore their challenges and work together to find skills to support greater calm, clarity, and resilience.

Sarah integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with wellness practices and nervous system regulation. Sarah enjoys helping clients feel empowered by understanding how stress, trauma, and emotional experiences affect the body and mind. Sarah is especially interested in working with individuals who feel reflective, sensitive, or intellectually curious, but also struggle by being overwhelmed emotionally or feeling “too much” for others.

Sarah has specialization working with individuals and the families of loved ones navigating substance use and behavioral addictions. She enjoys incorporating creativity and personal passions into the therapeutic process. Sarah believes healing can occur through many forms, and she looks forward to helping her clients find and use the interests and strengths that helps them feel most alive.
