Kim (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia (CSW004497) and a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio (I.2405530). As a snowbird friendly therapist, she splits her time between Georgia (January-June) and Ohio (July-December), providing telehealth year-round and in office when in Georgia. Since 2004, she has worked from a strengths-based perspective providing individual, couples and family therapy to adults ages 18+.
The foundation of her work is a therapeutic relationship built on trust, acceptance, understanding and compassion. She is an LBGTQIA+ ally, advocate and affirming therapist. She is also sensitive to the unique needs of senior (65+) adults as well as younger adults experiencing the transitional phases of adulthood.
Her approach to psychotherapy is transformative and holistic, with an emphasis on the integration of mind, body, and spirit. She specializes in working with grief, depression, anxiety, co-morbid medical conditions, personality disorders, and severe and persistent mental illness. She approaches treatment inclusively and in partnership to create a safe space to explore, discover and understand using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psycho-education, mindfulness, meditation, creative/artistic expression and somatic (body-oriented) therapy. Empowering clients to identify how nutrition, exercise, wellness, self-care and self-understanding can improve health and well-being and bring balance to their lives while developing skills to attain their unique mental health recovery goals.
