Kelli Littlefield is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia, a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Certified Professional Counseling Supervisor. She received a Bachelors degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. She completed her Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in 2009 and an Education Specialist degree in Professional Counseling in 2010 at Georgia State University. After completing her Masters degree, Kelli worked in private practice at The Price Counseling Center in Canton, GA. While at Price Counseling, Kelli specialized in providing individual, family and group counseling to children, adolescents and adults with mental health diagnoses, substance abuse, trauma, anger management, and in providing career counseling. As part of the Cherokee County DUI/Drug Court Treatment team, she gained invaluable experience in treating people with addictions and in navigating the DUI treatment regulations in Georgia. Kelli also spent 2 years working at Vocational Rehabilitation offices in 2 states before opening Tybee Counseling in 2013. Tybee Counseling later became Islands Counseling Services in 2019. Kelli is trained in EMDR and utilizes a variety of counseling techniques to include talk therapy, existentialism, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness and meditation. In her free time, she is also a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance and practices yoga and meditation regularly.

Maria Irwin, MA, LPC

Maria Irwin is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adults, adolescents, couples and families. She has worked in various inpatient and outpatient settings since 2005 and has extensive experience working with individuals and families dealing with depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, substance abuse, impulse control issues, psychosis, personality disorders, relationship issues, and adjustment difficulties. She has additional experience working with military individuals and families. Maria uses evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy with an integrative holistic approach. She seeks to treat the whole person by providing a supportive, individualized, and solution-focused environment to promote happiness, balance, and positive growth.
Maria is also a Registered Yoga Teacher and has woven several principles of yoga into her therapy practice, including mindfulness and relaxation techniques.

Kevin Tomberlin, MA, LPC

Kevin Tomberlin is an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) with Islands Counseling Services. In his over 20 years of experience,he has worked with at risk youth in community mental health, gained knowledge of addictions at drug court, as well as worked in the forensics unit at the state mental health hospital.
He often utilizes behavioral and cognitive behavioral therapy in his practice and provides a safe environment to allow his clients to build rapport so that they can open up and share their feelings. He specializes in individual, anger management, stress management, behavior modification, and working with adolescents.

Kari Barrett is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Registered Play Therapist and a Clinical Supervisor for those training to become therapists. Kari has over 28 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families.
Kari’s approach is integrative and direct, tailoring treatment to meet the collaboratively-defined goals and needs of her patients. She incorporates warmth, genuineness, and humor into her work, aiming to create a space where diverse client systems feel comfortable engaging in critical thinking and introspection. Kari believes in the importance of integrating past and present experiences, helping clients feel strengthened and more satisfied both individually and in relationships with others. She helps clients access greater understanding and resiliency to create long-standing, meaningful change.
Kari has worked extensively with the Juvenile Courts, Family Courts and School Systems in and around Chatham County. She has specialties in working with emotional and behavior disorders, family and adjustment issues, military life issues and mood and anxiety concerns.
Play therapy is a specialized intervention for children and adolescents and is most beneficial for those who have difficulty verbally expressing their inner thoughts and feelings. Kari is trained and well versed in child centered play therapy as well as directive play interventions. With older individuals, playful interventions may be an adjunct to the client centered, strengths-based approach.

Kimberley Simon, MSSA, LCSW

Kim (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia (CSW004497) and a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio (I.2405530). As a snowbird friendly therapist, she splits her time between Georgia (January-June) and Ohio (July-December), providing telehealth year-round and in office when in Georgia. Since 2004, she has worked from a strengths-based perspective providing individual, couples and family therapy to adults ages 18+. The foundation of her work is a therapeutic relationship built on trust, acceptance, understanding and compassion. She is an LBGTQIA+ ally, advocate and affirming therapist. She is also sensitive to the unique needs of senior (65+) adults as well as younger adults experiencing the transitional phases of adulthood. Her approach to psychotherapy is transformative and holistic, with an emphasis on the integration of mind, body, and spirit. Zhane Richardson is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. She graduated with her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in the Summer of 2023. She offers counseling services to adults, adolescents, children, groups, couples, parents and families. She believes that healing takes strength, courage, and patience every day. Katie Atkins-Russell is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor that graduated from South University in Savannah. She achieved her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in the Fall of 2023. She completed her Bachelor’s of Psychology at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA. Her education has prepared her to offer counseling to adults, adolescents, children, groups, couples, and families. She will continue to receive close supervision, collaboration and consultation to provide the best care possible. She believes that the client’s needs always come first and will do anything possible to help them achieve their goals. Katie is full of personality and loves to add in jokes when appropriate and will always make her clients feel comfortable. Kayla is a Licensed Associate Counselor who received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgia Southern University and her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South University. She provides individual, couples, family and play therapy to clients ages 4+. Graci is a Masters-level counselor who received her Bachelor of Art in Biopsychology at Oglethorpe University and graduated with her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South University in March of 2025. Graci is currently working under the supervision of two awesome providers at Islands Counseling: Kelli Littlefield EdS, LPC, CPCS and Kari Barrett LPC, CPCS, RPT/S.. Graci provides individual counseling and utilizes play therapy techniques to clients ages 4+. Graci approaches therapy by focusing on a strong and trusting alliance between the client and the counselor in order to create lasting change and solutions to each client’s individual needs. Graci takes a creative multimodal approach to therapy incorporating behavioral approaches including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy, Talk therapy, and Mindfulness. Whitney Lowery, MA, Supervised Clinician

Whitney is a Masters-level counselor who received her Masters of Arts in Mental Health from South University in March 2025. She graduated from Augusta State University with a bachelor’s in special education and from Macon State College with an Associates in Art. She has many years’ experience in working in the hospitality industry and in multiple school systems across Georgia with children ages 4+ in general education, those with developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, and specialized in autism spectrum disorder.
Whitney also has 6 years of experience as a Community Employment Specialist for older adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities as an advocate and support services. She has experience in working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, Bipolar, Anxiety, Depression, behavioral and conduct disorders, and various other struggles.
She uses a variety of evidence-based techniques in individual, couples, groups, co-parenting, and family counseling to assist each person in becoming the best version of themselves. Coming from a large family, she understands how important relationships are and that it takes a village! She believes that healing and developmental progress requires care, patience, mindfulness, and one step at a time.

Sarah is a supervised counselor working towards her Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in December 2020. Sarah provides individual counseling to clients ages 4+ from all walks of life. She is a dedicated and compassionate therapist with a passion for helping individuals navigate their unique journeys toward healing and self-discovery. Drawing from personal experiences that have shaped both her life and professional philosophy, she approaches therapy with empathy and a deep understanding of the challenges her clients face.
With two years of experience as a behavior technician in Applied Behavioral Analysis and three years in case management, she has developed a strong foundation in understanding and addressing individual needs.
